The Mayan Calendar
The Mayan Civilization prospered for hundreds of years in what is now Mexico. It was perhaps one of the most advanced ancient civilizations ever.

Among their many achievements was their calendar, which tracked the moon, sun, planets and dates more precisely then ay other calendar ever created.

Their calendar ends on December 21, 2012. When asked why, they simply replied, because that is when the world ends.

Nostradamus
Perhaps the most famous prognosticator, Nostradamus was born in the early 1500s. He wrote prophecies written in four line poems.

Although Nostradamus does not give a specific date for the end of the world, many people believe it is quickly approaching as many of his prophecies have already become true.

Mother Shipton
Born around the same time as Nostradamus, Mother Shipton also wrote many prophecies.

It should be noted that that the administrators of this website do not believe that Mother Shipton ever existed. It is our contention that the entire Mother Shipton history was created in the mid 20th century by a magazine attempting to gain subscribers.

However, because of her following she is included on this website.

The Bible - Revelations
Perhaps the most famous prophecies (in the Western World) of the end of the world come from the book of Revelations.

In his revelations, John, describes the end of the world as a judgement day. That, along with the sign of the beast being 666, are some of the most known signs of teh ends of the world which come from these predictions
